These items are basically free level ups and also end game upgrade mats, basically titanite slabs. To a lesser extent, some item pickups are only available for player 1(the "host" player even though it is local only) in Salt and Sanctuary while the second player gets some salt instead. Like no one wants to play as Mario's hat in Mario Odyssey. One of my main concerns is having a stilted experience for the second player. Is this correct? What happens when one player dies?
